Exmoor Zoo

Enjoy a day out in North Devon experiencing wildlife from around the world by visiting Exmoor Zoo! From the creepy crawlies of the Amazon to the wobbly wallaby joeys of Australia there are plenty of hands on activities with our animals for you to take part in.

Set in the North Devon countryside the zoo hosts winding paths lined with shrubs and trees providing homes for many of our wild species of birds and invertebrates, bringing you that much closer to nature. What’s around the next corner? Take a look and enjoy the atmosphere of a relaxing stroll around our family run zoo.

Take your pick of a mixture of talks, handling and feeding sessions we provide all year round. You could make a friend with an Alpaca by stroking their soft warm fleece, or conquer your fears by handling a spider and snake! Ever wondered what the Exmoor Beast favourite meal is? Find out at our Exmoor beast feed and talk!

There is lots to see and do whatever the weather here at Exmoor Zoo. We look forward to seeing you soon!

We are extremely proud to announce that we have just been awarded both the best small attraction in Devon and the whole of the Southwest – a great achievement. The zoo is not so large so as to prevent you seeing everything in a visit and has some very rare and unusual animals on display – many of which you will not see in other UK zoos!

Why not come and pay us a visit – you would be most welcome!

Hamerton Zoo Park

Hamerton Zoo Park is situated in Huntingdonshire, just 20 minutes drive from the Cathedral city of Peterborough, and the market towns of Oundle, Thrapston and Huntingdon.

Over twenty acres of rolling parkland, home to hundreds of incredible animals. Stop by our Coffee Shop or relax whilst the kids let off steam in our Play Area; and don’t forget to pick up a souvenir in our Gift Shop.

At Hamerton Zoo Park as well as our wonderful collection of animals, there are a range of things to keep you busy.

Express Railroad Train
The train service runs from the donkey stables down to the new tiger enclosures. Provided the weather is dry, the train will be in service during weekends and everyday throughout the school holidays from Easter until the October half-term. Train rides cost £2.00 per person.

Play Areas
We also have 2 Play Areas, one for babies and toddlers and the other for older children. Both get a “thumbs up” from all that play.

Picnic and Gardens
The new covered picnic areas and gardens give you a great area to relax and enjoy the snacks and drinks served by our Coffee shop.

Gift Shop
The gift shop sells everything from pencils to pictures. There’s loads to choose from including a great range of plush animals to take home.

The Stroll-a-Safari allows you to get up close to our domestic animals and you can even feed some of them.

Coffee Shop
Why not treat yourself to a snack or afternoon tea and cake from our Coffee Shop.
Perhaps an ice cream or lollie pop?
We also sell a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and all kinds of snack foods.

We’ve got more planned…
We are continually improving and enlarging the animal collection and facilities. Our new and unique system of walkways will be expanded and will eventually serve the whole park.
There’s always bigger and better things going on for Hamerton Zoological Park so come and see us, and keep your eye on the News page for all the latest improvements.
